About Me

I am 20 years old and I live in Edinburgh with my parents and sister. Currently, I am studying Mechanical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. Before that I attended The Royal High School in Edinburgh.

My interests include playing frisbee, snooker and also many things computer or technology related.

The key to throwing a frisbee, I have found, is to keep it smooth and even. More information on this, my latest hobby can be found on the frisbee page.

Snooker is a game I enjoy immensely, however, I am not particularly great at it. This does not stop me being better then all my friends but I am poor compared to the professionals. As such, my highest break is a great source of personal unhappiness and so it will not be published here. Also I enjoy the variants of pool and Sphincter, a game I made up with a friend. My other big interest is computers. I use a non-industry standard RISC OS computer as I find it vastly more efficient and capable then the other operating systems I have experienced. These include Windows, MacOS and Linux. Linux would be OK if the Graphical User Interface's were not just Microsoft imitations.

This site was created as I am interested in various web technologies and wanted to create a place on the internet to share my thoughts and interests. In making this web site, I have taught myself HTML, PHP and some CSS.

You may be wondering what all this SmoothArtist stuff is about. If so I can't really remember how I came up with the name. It was a long time ago and I think I first used it as my name in a multiplayer video game.
